Ngl adventure 2 was my favourite and Davis is my favourite Digimon protagonist, related to him so much.

Never hated Davis but I remember I had to warm up to him when I watch 02 for the very first time. But pretty soon within the first arc of the season, I definitely started liking him. Throughout the show I just liked him more and more. I love his personality and his drive is admirable. He is one of my favorite leaders in the franchise. I think Takato is a pretty neat protagonist as well. And thanks so much for The Legend of Korra mention!

The final episode was really my favourite scene of Daisuke.

Always liked him as a main character, he has a good arc and grows up to be a very responsible young man who owns his own business.

If she was alone to participte in modern days on a whim, wondering if there's a grimoire as reward, would not really break immerssion much. Even if it was a misunderstanding and such "grimoire" ends up being an encycloped on the history of tops and beyblades. It could have worked... xD

Davis is a great character but as a google boy he is often compared to Tai and Takato who have much larger fan bases. Comparing him to other characters outside of goggle boys, he is one of the better ones.

What if it's all one timeline and Frieren is the prequel? Only thing people remembered was Frierens break dancing golem so they made Beyblades to replicate it. Or Beyblades is the prequel and the break dancing golem spell is all that's left of Beyblade society?

Davis is literally the reason why I dislike Tri, Last Kizuna, and The Beginning. Adventure 02 had its shortcomings, but the ending of Adventure 02 had a lesson and message. And I feel like the sequels spit on that message. Tri felt like no one learned the lesson. And Last Kizuna and The Beginning felt like a redux of Davis and Ken's story. How many times do we need to beat this dead horse? How many times do we need to be told about the realities of growing up? How many times do we need to be told that life is not always darkness? When we had that lesson and message already done once and better? Adventure 02 tells the story of Davis, Ken, and Oikawa; all who had similar journeys, but all made different life choices about it. Oikawa serves to be the lesson about consequences of wallowing in darkness; he sacrifices himself to correct his mistakes, even when his dream is literally next to him. Ken, having chosen to indulge in his dark impulses, lived a lonely life; but eventually chooses to better himself to come out all the better for it. And Davis, having come to accept his insecurities, actually becomes the person he needs to be. And ultimately, every child digidestined come together in the end to add their powers to defeat the darkness that is Myotismon, the character who from Adventure 1999, always preyed upon insecurities.

He ain't perfect, but I personally enjoyed him and the 02 cast quite more than the og one. It's obvious that the older fans will dislike them but some of us liked the flawed characters

When he was talking about the card game and saying it’s boring to read I was thinking has he watched people play the card game. it’s boring to me probably because I watched a lot of yugioh. This should be an anime more people would probably now it’s existence

One thing I really like about Davis that also Tai has is the hot headed stubborn personality he definitely does fit the jump into action goggle head leader persona well, both Tai and Davis I like equally as protagonists followed by Marcus from Data Squad/Savers whom was little more aggressive and had his charm in that!! I also think Ken bares a loner personality similar to Matt’s so the chemistry between Davis and Ken sort of mirror’s Tai and Matt’s minus the butting heads and rivalry. One of my favorite lines with Davis is when Wormmon leads him to the Golden Digimental he quickly trusts Wormmon and says “yeah I’m not a jerk everyone thinks” also when he helps Ken face his past many times like before they Jogress into Paildramon for the first time when fighting Okuwamon and when Ken opened The Dark Ocean to seal Daemon and the highlight his initial stand against MaloMyotismon not backing down when everyone else was engulfed in fear and despair a excellent protagonist that is slept on.

I like Davis as a character and his Digimon is among my favourites, I do understand people who don't like him though and I think it's more what he represents and to a lesser extent ken, simply put TK is shafted first of all he is the positioned to lead a new team doesn't even need to be the lead character just the leader of the team, the reason I include ken is because earlier parts of 02 TK is treated as the second lead and somewhat plays the same role his brother did in season one which works quite well to develop and build on his experience in season 1 but then as soon as ken joins the team ken takes his place as the secondary lead, again like Davis I do like ken I guess I just like TK more.... Slightly worrying to say a 34 year old man 😂

well beyblade deserved it tbh

He was never a leader to begin with. All around him were more experienced and/or older Digi-Destined. The only time he did something resembling leadership was in the VERY LAST episode.

Honestly this movie is just summed up as "if Tri was good".

Most days, I think I prefer to rewatch Zero 02 over Adventure but my enjoyment of it stems from my enjoyment of the original. 02 is great when it's able to stand on its own and seeing the protagonist grow in that way makes a really enjoyable story.

I find I like Davis more when I'm not watching the show. The idea of him is really fun, but I think the show itself didn't utilize him much. To me, it felt like the writers didn't like him so why should I? Despite that, the scene that tends to reminds me why I like him is the one from the movie dub where he breaks down crying listening to Willis' backstory then pops back up all happy when he tells him not to worry about it. It's a dub only thing, but I think it's an essential scene for that version of the character. If he had more stuff like that and a more consistent focus I think it would be easier to get behind him.

I never hated Davis. I liked him. Yeah he was the leader of the new team and had some big shoes to fill. But in the end, he was the one to figure out how to defeat MaloMyostimon.

There are moments in the show when I really loved Davis character and there ones where I couldn't stand him. For me he starts as pretty annoying and as time goes on he becomes more likable. I think that last few episodes of Digital Emperor arch, him being the first to welcome Ken into the group and the way he acted in the finale are some of his best moments which made him into overall great character and maybe not my favorite but still pretty good. And all that being said i need to say that I hate Exveemon debut episode it is so horrible. They handled them in all the wrong ways. Not only that it has stupid plot and Davis and veemon are treated as gag characters, but whole development he got during Digimon Emperor arch got flushed right down the drain and he is painted not just annoying as he was in the beginning but also weirdly opssesive if you ask me, but that is just my opinion.

overall I just dont care for Davis. The dub didnt help but I dont care for him much in the sub either. Its not that hes bad in the leader role persay but he is in that role when he is more so supporting inspiration rather than a leader. He is a good frontman for the team but he is an awful leader for the team. Kind of like Luffy in One Piece where we all know we can count on him to do what we need to save the day but dont look to this man for a strategy, plan, tactics, approach, or anything of that nature. Follow him and you will make it through.

I will not stand for that Roxas slander. I preferred Roxas back then and I still do today.
